Artwork & some ways of promoting it

While I had been doing all sorts of different art over the years ( I remember drunken arguments with my friends over who should get a free painting from me and why – as far back as 1982) I only started to do full time art 24 months ago.
So what I did was to think up as many different styles of art that I thought that I was capable of doing, and did them.
For example I did a very quick big brushed paintings in acrylic – an entire 1.8 m x .9 painting done in an hour. In fact that one sold for R1800 very quickly.
The idea behind testing all the different art forms was both to see what I enjoyed and to see what sold.
Once I found one that sold well. One of my boiler cement 3D sculpture ones sold for R40 000 and I then concentrated on that.
Later I got a commission for the pieces that I did using wood-stain. 60 boxed canvasses.
As I stretched the canvasses myself I was able to offer then at a good price. It also helped that I can do about 5 a day.
